Shoot35 CINEfocus

The guys over at shoot35 have just released the second version of their follow focus unit and it looks very special indeed. A follow focus has been on my list of things to invest in for a while so I’ve ordered one today and will do a review once it arrives and I’ve had a chance to try it out on a shoot next week.

They list the features as…

– 0.8 mod (cine pitch) drive gear
– Custom designed gearbox (all metal construction)
– Backlash adjustment
– Standard accessory port
– Removable marking disk with 90

SG Blade & EX1

Shoot35 have started posting some footage from their new 35mm adapter, the SG Blade, mounted on an EX1 with their flip module. The footage shows quite a lot of porthole vignetting but Shoot35 claim that this is due to the 20mm lens they used and not the adapter. Apparently they are currently editing footage shot with other lenses including my favourite the 50mm f1.4 so I’ll look forward to seeing the results.

I’d love to get my hands on an SG Blade to do a comparison with the Brevis.
