Winter Garden
I’ve been shooting random clips in and around our garden over the last week and thought that I’d throw this together tonight rather than wasting them.
There’s a mixture of formats and lenses used here but it was all done using the Brevis adapter and the cropping technique described in the workflow section which seems to be producing some really nice results.
If you see flickering in some of the shots it’s because I accidentally left the flicker reduction feature turned on while filming the exterior shots after doing screen recording tests last week.

Thanks for sharing your adventures with us. It is extremely helpful. I’ve been doing photography and videography for many years and am about to purchase my own video camera (i.e. a Sony EX1). Your blog has helped me pick my equipment and is inspiring. Could you explain a little how you get the rights to use all the music you do for your shorts or direct me to some good literature on the subject?

Hi Dasan.
Thanks for the nice comments, I’m really happy that you’ve found it useful and I always like to hear from people who visit the blog. With regards to music rights, as with most newcomers to making video I started out using a selection of my favourite tracks from bands I like, doing this does help because it’s much nicer to edit to a track that inspires & creates emotion. As nice as it is to use such tracks though it’s not legal to do so without permission from the copyright holders and as such you risk getting into trouble, or at least having your videos removed from sharing services.
With this video I used a creative commons track, which is a much better way of finding music for your video. rather than repeating myself check out a small piece I wrote a while back at https://www.pauljoy.com/?p=811
which diffuser do you have for your brevis… I will be getting my brevis this up and coming week and am really excited to use it!
I have the cfXL, please make sure you read the following page if your considering using the brevis with an EX1…. https://www.pauljoy.com/?p=381
