Grow a ‘tache for Movember!
Philip Bloom has started a Movember team in aid of the Prostate Cancer Charity. Like Philip I lost my Grandfather to the cancer and my father was diagnosed with it around two years ago. Luckily my Dad has responded well to medication and is currently doing fine but it’s an ongoing challenge.
Movember challenges men to change their appearance and the face of men’s health by growing a moustache. The rules are simple, start Movember 1st clean shaven and then grow a moustache for the entire month. The moustache becomes the ribbon for men’s health, the means by which awareness and funds are raised for cancers that affect men. Much like the commitment to run or walk for charity, the men of Movember commit to growing a moustache for 30 days.
Please join the Bloom Tache team and help raise some cash, otherwise if you could make a donation and help that way it would be very much appreciated.
I’m currently running prize draws for Glidetrack gear and a copy of PluralEyes based on twitter followers. If I reach 1000 followers by the end of Movember I’m going to donate £100 to the Bloom ‘Tache team.
I’ll be posting all future updates to the following page www.pauljoy.com/movember
Paul,
Its the silent epidemic my father in law has it and it has spread into the bones, the prognosis is bad and my father had his removed in the summer, only getting tested because of my father in laws condition.
Once you reach your 50’s at the latest you need to get tested and continue to be tested during your life.
Darren
Very true Darren, my fathers went too far as well so couldn’t be operated on. Thankfully the meds have stopped it worsening for him but there’s no guarantee they will continue to work, it’s very difficult to live with. Given that it’s happened in the family I already get it checked once a year.
