Faster blogging

If you’re reading this then you’ve hit my blog on a shiny new server. After so many problems with Donhost delivering my blog at speeds resembling a 56k modem I decided to switch my hosting over to Xilo Communications. I hope you notice an improvement, please let me know if you find any bugs / niggles on the blog that have developed as a result of moving. I’ve been through and fixed a few text problems resulting from exporting and importing the database but there could be some that I’ve missed.

SmallHD DP6 first impressions

I got back from my shoot in Austria last night to find the DP6 monitor from SmallHD waiting for me. To be honest I’m not going to have much time over the next few days to put it through it’s paces but thought I’d share a few initial thoughts with you and some quick iPhone pics I took whilst having a play with it.

Fujifilm F300EXR

Fujifilm UK’s digital agency hired me to shoot and produce this 20 second video which they needed as part of an online advertising campaign. I worked with the agencies creative team who had developed an idea for Fujifilm’s F300EXR camera whereby the camera becomes the subject of a photo shoot, becoming the ‘Supermodel’ itself.

Choppers & choppers

I’m in the middle of another Harley-Davidson event at the moment, this time in Faaker See, Austria.

One of the best things for me about this event is that I get to spend some time shooting from a helicopter which us always an amazing experience.

I use the EX1 for this, mainly because its image stabiliser does a pretty good job of taking the worst of the shake out, although it’s still a big challenge to keep the shots shake free.

I’ll post some footage when I get back but for now I think the following pic just about portrays my thoughts on shooting from a chopper!
