UK to Croatia – the road trip
For the last week I’ve been riding a Harley-Davidson from the UK to Croatia. We’ll be arriving at the Croatian city of Biograd today for the European HOG rally where I’ll be shooting the event for Harley-Davidson. I’ve posted all my photo’s from the trip to my MobileMe gallery if you’d like to see more.
The trip started with an overnight ferry from Harwich to the Hook of Holland, from there we rode to Saarbruken in Germany, mainly motorways that day so we were all glad to get to our hotel and wander into the local town for some food and of course a few beers. The next day we headed to Strasbourg and then into the Black Forrest and lake Titisee where we stayed for the night.
The fourth day saw us riding from Titisee to Switzerland via the Julier Pass, an amazing route through the Swiss alps. The next day the the plan was to head to our hotel in Schlanders, Italy via the much acclaimed Stelvio pass but we were out of luck, heavy snow meant the passes were closed so we had to back track and take a different route through Italy which was turned out to be an excellent ride.
From Schlanders we headed down to Jesolo beach near Venice which again provided some amazing riding and then after a night at a fab hotel we headed down to Croatia via Slovenia. The last night of the trip was spent in the Croatian town of Slenj from where I’m writing this. Today we’ll be riding south along the Adriatic coast road to Biograd where my work will start.
It’s been an amazing trip and an experience I will remember for a long time. Don’t forget to check out my photo’s.
Hey – looks great! What bike is that, in the last shot? Looks beefy.
Justin.
Can’t wait to see the movie :)
